I got the first batch of photos back from the AGA Refinery Party and there are some true gems! I thought I'd share some of my favourites here, there are literally hundreds which I think the AGA will publish on their Flickr page. Stay tuned! Either way, they will go in the Time Capsule for future generations to enjoy.

the AGA has asked me to do a project for their upcoming Refinery event which is an Andy Warhol style factory party (FUN!!). i'm in charge of making a time capsule for the event. i have a couple of fun things planned and i decided to include a photography component for the time capsule whereby party-goers can borrow a special silver camera and snap some party shots but must return the camera to the time capsule at the end of the night. i'll get the film developed and i will include the developed photos in the time capsule.

this idea was inspired by actual events in which, i went to a party with a disposable camera, left it unattended and it was taken by a bandit who kindly left if for me at the end of the night in the same spot where they nicked it from earlier in the party. it was really intriguing to get the film developed and the results were spectacular! see below for some highlights.

laura and i went to the west end this afternoon for some thrift store action. there were many treasures to be found including a pair of "made in england" brown, mod ankle boots (awesome!), a little yellow owl radio (already tuned to cbc!), an amazing puzzle of a quilt (springbok!), cute earings, a cashmere sweater (!), and a book titled 'boring postcards' (from phaidon!). all for less than $20. i think i'll wear my new boots out tonight.

you may be surprised to learn that some of my most favourite things ever are dioramas at natural history museums. i've always been weary of live animals but have become fascinated with being able to observe and study an animal frozen in time as a specimen of taxidermy. I recently had the great fortune to visit the shop of Mr.Johansson, a taxidermist who works near Edson, Alberta.

one of my most treasured photographs is a polaroid i took of the Gallery of Comparative Anatomy (a giant room full of a menagerie of skeletons!) in the Muséum national d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris.
